what are the meaning of monorails, light rail systems, covered walkways, moving walkways,
what are these at the airport??What is inter-terminal tarnsport at the any major airport?Monorails and light rail systems are used to transport passengers from one terminal to another, especially at large airports, where getting around on foot can take a long time. For example, Dallas Fort Worth has the 'Skylink', which is a regular and speedy service, which links each of the terminals at the airport.
Covered walkways are again used to link terminals, but usually those not set a great distance apart and they are intended for those travelling on foot. Another example is London Heathrow, which has a covered walkway between terminals one and three, because they are close to each other. In order for passengers to get from these terminals to terminals four or five (which are much further away), use of the London Underground or Heathrow Express is necessary.
A moving walkway is a conveyor, which moves people (not necessarily between terminals). These are common at a lot of airports throughout the world, and they enable people to get to where they need to be much quicker.
