interview tomorow morning for food service worker. Just wondering if there is better chances of getting work, since it is a hospital. Also, I meant to apply for the full time position not per diem, and did so just last night. How should I mention that to them tomorow...? thanks alot!Is per diem better in hospitals ? because I got a job inter?I'm confused. Per diem is the amount your employer pays you while traveling on company business. I've not worked at a hospital in food service, however.
As far as I know per diem is travel expenses. I worked at several business and all had different per diem rates. It would also vary depending on where you were traveling to. For example, going to San Francisco, CA you got a higher per diem than going to Gilroy, CA. Because hotel and food simply cost much more in San Fransciso, than it did in Gilroy.
If you're saying you applied for a part time job, and want full time, tell them at the interview. If you can, get another application and fill it out for full time work before the interview. Bring it with you completed.
I always made two copies of my job applications - before I filled them out. I filled out the copy first. Then if I made any errors, I corrected them. I then copied the information to the original application. I still had one blank not filled out, just in case I really goofed up.
I'm not sure if I helped you. I hope so. Good luck and I hope you get the full time positing you want.Is per diem better in hospitals ? because I got a job inter?I would definitely mention to them that you meant to apply for the full time position, but will be happy with either position. I used to work in food service at my hospital (part time) and got ALOT of hours, I worked nearly 40 each week. It was a blast, because the people were really down to earth, as I moved "up the chain" people were not so much fun...
