Why are Indian people against Inter-racial marriage?

In my opinion it's because the majority of Indians are Hindus and they have a Caste system and it's frowned upon to marry outside your caste....Why are Indian people against Inter-racial marriage?
This is just retarded. Indian is not a race, most Indians are of the same race - but not all! India is comprised of many cultures, ethnicities, languages so these do not even intermingle with each other from time to time they marry within to their own castes %26amp; races.

Most people in India are not illiterate, only people living in poverty. Infact I am inclined to say that the average person in India with the slighest bit of education is much more intelligent than the average American.

My opinion is that you are an idiot. With my statement my basis is you are stereotyping a country which is very diverse culturally, lingually, and even ethnically. You cannot just fit all these into one 'box'. And Indian is not a culture at all.Why are Indian people against Inter-racial marriage?I would say Indians are extremely attached to their tradition. Being Indian I can relate. My parents did expect me to marry an Indian and to be honest I thought I would too. But when I bought home a white bf they were a little surprised but extremely polite and they like him now. I'd like my kids to learn hindi and know about Indian culture, I don't see the harm in that. I guess Indian people feel if their kids are not fully Indian they won't fully appreciate Indian culture and won't learn about Indian traditions. That's my opinion anyway
Because Indians are smart, or at least that's what i found to be the case.

They have strong moral codes and ethics with a great history.
