Is the reason we have gun rights limits to prevent inter-county feuds from escalating?

The reason the right to bear arms is in the Bill of Rights goes back to the founder's innate distrust of government, even of the government that they were seeking to create.

It was also a function of the times, when America's western 'frontier' was the Appalachian Mountains, and many American's needed guns for both protection and for provender (hunting.)

The founders were thinking of long guns, not of hand guns. Hand guns in those times were rare, usually duelling pistols or ornate works of art. Pistols were useless for hunting. Pretty much still are, although there are a number of hunters who take great pride in their ability to successfully hunt with a pistol. Is the reason we have gun rights limits to prevent inter-county feuds from escalating?Letting the inner-city scum kill each other would be one of the best things we ever did to improve this country. The only thing better are "prison riots" where they kill each other.

Unfortunately..... you mistakenly believe that any of "those people" actually are obeying the "gun laws". They're not. That's why cities like Baltimore, Washington DC, and Chicago have CRAZY-HIGH murder rates and gun-related violence. Is the reason we have gun rights limits to prevent inter-county feuds from escalating?I haven't heard that one. We can ask Pelosi, she's authored a number of such bills. Is the reason we have gun rights limits to prevent inter-county feuds from escalating?I think President Obama should change the 2nd amendment and have guns banned to the general public. Guns only have negative effects on our society.
